Abstract

The article tells about the main stages of botanical science development at St. Petersburg State University. It covers a time span from 1819 to the present. The article contains information about all the Heads of the Botany Department and its laboratories, as well as scientists and lecturers that have had a significant impact on the department — the years of work at the university, research interests, courses performed and textbooks published by them.
