Herbarium and floristic researches at the department of botany of Saint-Petersburg University (Records on history)
Abstract
The paper introduces information about herbarium of the Department of Botany of Saint-Petersburg University (LECB), the history of its origin, forming and development. The most interesting collections and collectors are noted as follows: I. Boeber, C. Wildenov, G. Bongard, E. Lindemann et al. The earliest specimen of herbarium is referred to 1656; it was sampled by Jakob Breyne (1637–1697). Probably the collection also features the oldest specimen from Japan (1688) collected by А. Clegero. The data about recent state of collection funds of the herbarium (fungi, algae, lichens, vascular plants, diatoms) and the list of the collections (over 300 of sets) are given and supplied with a brief description of every collection.
