Materials on the history of the St. Petersburg-Leningrad University Botanic Garden

Abstract

The main concern of the article is the history of construction works of the Department of Botany carried out with the participation of Professor A. N. Beketov and with financial support from a mycologist M. S. Voronin. The article provides in-depth information on the history of the Botanical Garden of the University: construction works of the greenhouses and buildings within the Botanic Garden and around it. The author’s personal recollections concerning his childhood and youth are presented in the article. A. Regel, R. Niemann, I. Gornostaev, M. Beketov, etc are mentioned.
