On the use of parametric criteria for «reliability» evaluation of the parameters of the studied objects
Abstract
The use of probabilistic estimates of data reliability requires sample homogeneity and normal feature distribution. As usual, botanical data do not display the normal distribution, or the nature of their distribution remains undetermined due to a small number of observations. In these cases, a probabilistic assessment of reliability is often incorrect and leads to mistakes in interpretations. Refs 9. Figs 5.
