Abstract

The article presents a historical review on lichenologists and discusses events and investigations in lichenology in the Department of Botany of Saint-Petersburg University for the last 100 years. Special emphasis is placed on Alexander Elenkin and Vsevolod Savich as well as main fields of lichenological researches realized in the Department of Botany during the last 20 years.
